Elderly Man Struck, Killed on Larkin Road in Live Oak
LIVE OAK, Calif. (Oct. 5, 2018) —Wilbur J. Menth, 79, of Live Oak, died Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle in the 10900 block of Larkin Road.
The collision took place about 10 p.m. not far from where he lived.
Police were told the victim was allegedly standing in the middle of the road and waving his hands. A driver told police they were unable to avoid hitting the victim and subsequently a second vehicle also struck the man. Menth was caught underneath the second vehicle and dragged a short distance.
One of the drivers identified as Darshan Johal, 53, of Yuba City had been traveling northbound in a white Nissan.
The crash remains under investigation by police to confirm what happened and determine liability.
