Woman Seriously Injured in Head-on Crash; Ashley Kay and Gregorio Hernandez were Killed
LAKESIDE, Calif. (Oct. 2, 2018) — A 43-year-old woman was seriously injured last Thursday on Wildcat Canyon Road when another driver veered into her path and the two vehicles crashed head-on.
The collision took place about 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27th., just north of Willows Road. Ashley Olivia Kay, 21, of El Cajon, was driving at high speed when her 1992 Honda Accord veered into the path of the woman’s 2013 Porsche Cayenne and the two collided.
Kay, and her passenger Gregorio David Hernandez, 53, of El Cajon, were both thrown out of the vehicle and suffered major injuries. Hernandez died at the scene and Kay died at Sharp Memorial Hospital. The vehicle they were riding in was split in half due to the impact.
Meanwhile, the woman who was driving the Porsche suffered major injuries and was hospitalized.
