WILDOMAR, Calif. (MAY 7, 2014) — Tony Sampson, 52, of Battle Ground, Washington was killed Tuesday afternoon in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident on the eastbound Ortega Highway about 2 miles west of Grand Avenue, according to a press release by the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.
Sampson was riding his 2013 Harley Davidson Street Glide eastbound on Ortega Highway when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road and crashed his bike into an embankment about 3:30 p.m. CHP officers from the Temecula station responded to the crash along with paramedics who transported him by ambulance to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, California. Sampson was pronounced dead at the hospital about 4:14 p.m., the report said.
The Temecula CHP station is investigating the crash.
“This is a tragedy for the family and friends of Mr. Sampson,” said Attorney James Johnson. “My condolences go out to them as the learn of his sudden death and try to piece together what happened.”
