William Hester Sr., 73, Killed in Hit-and-Run at Palm Street and Arnold Avenue
MCCLELLAN PARK (October 8, 2019) – The alleged hit-and-run driver that killed an elderly pedestrian at Palm Street and Arnold Avenue last week has been arrested.
California Highway Patrol identified 70 -year-old William Nathaniel Beasley as the suspect in the tragic crash which took place on October 1.
According to reports by KCRA News and CBS Sacramento, Beasley was driving a silver 2006 Toyota Tacoma when he struck 73-year-old William Hester Sr. at the intersection of Palm Street and Arnold Avenue.

Hester was crossing the street in McClellan Business Park on the way to a dental appointment with his wife, Deborah Hester, when the car raced towards the Citrus Heights couple.
The man reportedly pushed his wife out of harm’s way but instead was hit by the Tacoma. Paramedics responded to the site and pronounced Hester dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that Beasley did not stop to render aid and continued onto Watt Avenue. Officers found his vehicle at a lot in Rio Linda with damage to its right front end.
The Antelope man was later arrested on suspicion of felony manslaughter. Authorities took him to Sacramento County jail with a bail set at $75,000.
