William Blackburn, 71, Injured in North San Juan Pedestrian Accident
NEVADA COUNTY, CA (May 20, 2021) – William Blackburn was hospitalized after a pedestrian accident on Highway 49 in North San Juan.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 71-year-old North San Juan man as the victim of the crash which occurred on Wednesday afternoon.
The incident happened on May 19 when the pedestrian, William Blackburn, was crossing Highway 49 in front of the Brass Rail. At the same time, a vehicle was going south.

CHP said the driver then struck the elderly man as he walked into traffic. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found the man who went airborne as a result of the collision.
An air ambulance took William Blackburn to the Sutter Roseville Medical Center for treatment of minor to possible major injuries. They soon listed him in fair condition.
KNCO News wrote that the accident took place at about 3:34 p.m. Meanwhile, CHP mentioned that they cited the motorist involved for misdemeanor DUI following the crash.
The North San Juan pedestrian collision is still under investigation.
