Bicyclist Killed in Rancho Mirage at Ramon and Rattler Roads
RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. (Dec. 14, 2018) — William Campbell, 32, of Cathedral City, died Thursday when his bicycle was struck by a vehicle at Ramon and Rattler roads, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The crash took place about 6:51 a.m. at the intersection. Both Campbell and the driver of the vehicle were traveling eastbound on Ramon Road. For unknown reasons, the vehicle struck the bicycle rider and caused his death. Campbell was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver stopped and cooperated with the police investigation.
The investigation to determine the cause of the collision is ongoing, police said. Witnesses are asked to call Officer Bazanos from the Rancho Mirage Police Department’s Traffic Team at (760) 836-1600.
