Motorcyclist Killed in Crash with Vehicle in Venice Identified
VENICE, Calif. (Nov. 1, 2023) – William Evans-Phelps, 37, died in a motorcycle accident involving another vehicle at Lincoln Boulevard and Lake Street in Venice.
The motorcyclist was identified today by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
The traffic accident occurred at around 10:55 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27th at the Venice intersection, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
William Evans-Phelps was riding southbound on Lincoln Boulevard when a driver in another vehicle made a left-hand turn into his path onto westbound Lake Street, Westside Current reports. The bike crashed into the passenger side of the vehicle and the rider sustained major injuries before he died at the scene.
The 81-year-old man driving the second vehicle stopped and cooperated with authorities. He sustained injuries, but declined an ambulance.
Liability for the fatal motorcycle accident will be determined by LAPD investigators.
