William Hattar, 23, Seriously Injured in Anaheim Car Crash on 91 Freeway
ANAHEIM, CA (July 6, 2021) – A fatal wrong-way crash seriously injured William Hattar on the 91 Freeway in Anaheim.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 23-year-old man as one of the victims in the collision which took place early Tuesday.
The incident began when William Yousef Hattar was driving a 2015 Honda east on the 91 Freeway in Anaheim. KTLA News and My News LA wrote that the wreck happened at about 1:15 a.m.
Wrong-Way Driver Killed in Collision
At the same time, a westbound Dodge Dakota entered the eastbound lanes from the Harbor Boulevard off-ramp. CHP said the pickup truck then slammed into the Honda.
Both William Hattar and his passenger sustained major injuries as a result of the crash. Paramedics rushed them to the UC Irvine Medical Center for treatment.
Meanwhile, the woman operating the Dodge died at the scene. CHP added that a 2019 Mercedes-Benz became involved in the incident and its occupants did not sustain any wound.
Authorities arrested the passenger of the Mercedes, 39-year-old Fadal FadsslElijazzar, for charges unrelated to the collision. The Anaheim wrong-way crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced three lanes of the eastbound 91 Freeway to shut down following the wreck. Anyone with information can call the CHP at 714-892-4426
