William Peng, 73, Killed in Solo Crash on Alton Parkway in Irvine

fatal crashIRVINE, California (June 29, 2016) — William Peng, 73, of Irvine died Wednesday afternoon in a solo crash into a tree on the eastbound Alton Parkway, just east of Harvard Avenue, according to the Orange County Sheriff Coroner.

The crash took place about 4:45 p.m. when Peng lost control of his Mazda SUV and crashed into the tree located in the center median of the roadway. Responding firefighters had to cut and rescue the injured man, but he died at the scene due to major trauma.

The crash is under investigation by police to determine the cause.
