Major Injury Collision on Interstate 20 Freeway Thursday
Williams, CA (September 9, 2021) – Several people suffered serious injuries following a car accident that occurred on the Interstate 20 Freeway Thursday afternoon.
The California Highway Patrol group reported a vehicle veered off the roadway while heading east on I-20 Freeway. Initial records indicated the car overturned and rolled down the ditch.
Shortly after 12:10 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the location. First responders found a Cadillac Escalade approximately 20 feet down the embankment.
4 Hospitalized After Car Accident in Williams, September 9
Responding medical personnel immediately rendered aid to all possible victims in the collision. After the evaluation, officials determined as many as four people suffered injuries as a result of the incident.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch, paramedics airlifted all four patients to different hospital for treatment. Rescue teams transported one patient to Enloe Medical Center; another patient to Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center; and the third patient to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
It remained unclear where the helicopter transported the fourth patient in the crash.
At this time, investigators continue to work to determine the precise cause of the car accident in Williams.
