WILLITS, California (April 13, 2016) — Several people were trapped in an overturned car following a head-on crash Wednesday morning on the northbound US 101 Freeway, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The 10:05 a.m. crash involved at least two, but possibly three motorists, just south of the Willits Watershed Road. One of the vehicles may have had children inside, but it’s not clear in the report which vehicle or if those children were hurt. A helicopter landed on the freeway near the Willits scales to rush at least one injured person to a local hospital for treatment. The number of people hurt was not disclosed.
Police are heading up an investigation into the crash to determine liability.
