1 Killed, 2 Seriously Injured in Crash Winchester Road and Keller Road
WINCHESTER, CA (June 1, 2023) – A crash killed one person and seriously injured two others at Winchester Road and Keller Road in Winchester.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the tragic accident took place on Thursday night. Officers reported the wreck on June 1 at around 9 p.m.
The incident happened when two cars collided for an unknown reason. The vehicles crashed at the intersection of Winchester Road, known as Highway 79, and Keller Road.
2 Cars Collide
CHP described the cars involved as two pickup trucks, colored white and black respectively. One of the vehicles involved then slammed into a pole nearby.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived and pronounced one individual dead at the scene. The Riverside County Fire Department said two other people sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
An air ambulance flew one patient, and a ground ambulance rushed the other to the hospital for treatment. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, officers forced the Winchester Road and Keller Road to shut down for a time following the wreck. The cause of the fatal crash is still under investigation.
