1 Killed, 1 Badly Injured in Crash at Winchester Road and Ninth Street
WINCHESTER, CA (June 6, 2023) – A crash killed one person and badly injured another at Winchester Road and Ninth Street in Winchester.
According to an article published by the Patch, the tragic accident took place late Monday night. Officers reported the wreck on June 5 at around 10:30 p.m.
The incident happened when a motorcyclist and a vehicle collided for an unknown reason. The two crashed at the intersection of Winchester Road, known as Highway 79, and Ninth Street.
Motorcycle and Vehicle Collide
The Riverside County Fire Department officials found the motorcycle down on the ground. Firefighters soon confirmed that the rider died as a result of the collision.
Cal Fire said the driver of the other vehicle sustained moderate injuries upon impact. Paramedics rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, officers forced the Winchester Road and Ninth Street to shut down for a time following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal crash is still under investigation.
