Pedestrian Killed in Crash on Winchester Road Near Scott Road
WINCHESTER, CA (April 30, 2022) – A crash killed a pedestrian on Winchester Road near Scott Road in Winchester.
The Riverside County Fire Department first logged the tragic accident late Saturday night. Officers reported the collision at about 10:31 p.m.
Cal Fire said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in Winchester. The driver hit the person on Winchester Road, known as Highway 79, near Scott Road.
Victim Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then found the victim down on the ground. The patient who sustained serious injuries as a result of the incident.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the person dead at the scene. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the report did not mention if the motorist stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the victim. The cause of the fatal crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced a stretch of Winchester Road to shut down for a time near Scott following the collision.
