1 Injured in Winchester Hit-and-Run Crash at Highway 79 and Jean Nicholas
WINCHESTER, CA (September 14, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash injured at least one person at Highway 79 and Jean Nicholas Road in Winchester.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident took place on Tuesday night. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 8:10 p.m.
CHP determined that three vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Winchester. They crashed on southbound Highway 79 at the intersection with Jean Nicholas Road.
The incident log described the cars involved as a Honda, a gray Mercedes and a gray Nissan Versa. The Mercedes obtained front-end damage upon impact.
Multiple Cars Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Kona Park. They found one person who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then provided treatment to the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the incident. The name of the wounded victim and their condition at this time were not disclosed.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver of the Honda did not stop to help and fled the area. Officers forced southbound Highway 79 at Jean Nicholas to shut down following the wreck.
The cause of the Winchester hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
