WINCHESTER, California (December 23, 2015) — Three people were hurt in a major injury crash Wednesday morning in a crash between a Riverside County Fire Department pickup truck and a gray pickup truck at Scott Road and Winchester Road, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The crash was reported at 9:29 a.m. Police said the county fire department’s pickup truck went off the roadway and down an embankment, but was visible from the roadway. The driver involved was a battalion fire chief.
Paramedics responded to help those hurt in the crash and three people were hospitalized with some suffering major injuries, but the details were not disclosed. There was also a dog that was injured in the crash that needed medical attention.
Police are investigating what caused the crash and liability.
