Motorcyclist Hit by Car at Highway 79 and Benton Road
WINCHESTER, Calif. (May 21, 2021) — A Winchester motorcycle versus car crash left a rider badly hurt Friday morning on Highway 79 at Benton Road.
The collision happened about 12:49 p.m. on May 21st, in the northbound traffic lanes, according to the California Highway Patrol. A red Chrysler 200 collided with the bike at the intersection due to unknown circumstances.
Police arrived at the scene and applied a tourniquet to the injured motorcycle rider who was down on the ground.
Riverside County Collision on Highway 79
A 911 call to the Riverside County Fire Department brought paramedics to the Highway 79 crash scene to treat the injured motorcycle rider.
Meanwhile, the Murrieta Police Department issued a SigAlert at 1:15 p.m. for about an hour.
Finally, the CHP is heading up an investigation into the car accidents to determine fault.
