Winndell Johnson Killed in Palmdale Pedestrian Accident on Avenue O

Young Man Struck, Killed in Palmdale Car Accident
PALMDALE, Calif. (June 3, 2025) – Winndell Johnson, 22, of Palmdale, was struck and killed in a pedestrian accident on Avenue O, just west of 185th Street East near Palmdale.
The Palmdale man was walking in an eastbound direction on Avenue O at around 10:35 p.m.
Saturday when the motorist hit him, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The victim suffered major injuries and died following the collision. The 2002 Dodge pickup truck driver, identified as H. Cortez, of Nuevo, stopped and cooperated with authorities. The motorist and his passenger, K. Cortez, were not injured.
Investigators working on the case did not suspect impairment for the driver, but it’s unknown if the pedestrian was under the influence at this time.
