The incident which occurred at roughly 8:00 p.m. involved a 45-year-old female bicyclist identified as Brandi Weaver, 45, of Sacramento, who was struck by a hit-and-run motorist as she proceeded to cross El Camino Avenue.
Per the Sacramento Bee, Weaver did not survive her injuries and was pronounced dead about 30 minutes following the collision.
Police officials have arrested Ashley Mauling, 32, in connection to possibly being the suspect responsible after he vehicle was located nearby the scene. Although it remains unclear whether or not she is responsible, authorities determined Mauling was under the influence after failing a sobriety test.
