Woman, 62, Killed in North Park Pedestrian Accident on El Cajon Boulevard

Driver Hits Woman Walking Outside of Crosswalk

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (June 8, 2026) — A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle Friday night on El Cajon Boulevard in North Park, according to the San Diego Police Dept.

An eastbound driver in a 2020 Volkswagen Passat was traveling along El Cajon Boulevard near Hamilton Street when the woman attempted to cross the street outside of a marked crosswalk.

The vehicle struck the 62-year-old woman around 11:40 p.m. on June 5th as she crossed from the north to south side of the roadway, police said.

Paramedics were called to the scene and transported the injured woman to a hospital, but sadly she died from her injuries.

San Diego traffic investigators determined that DUI was not a factor in the crash.
