Griffith attempted to regain control of her vehicle merging back onto the road where she veered into the path and hit another car head-on.

Officials affirmed that Griffith died at the scene.

Meanwhile, the unidentified woman driving the vehicle and two children accompanying her were all airlifted to Desert Hospital located in Palm Springs.

Authorities are looking into whether drugs and alcohol were contributing factors as the collision is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.

From the information gathered, it appears as though the 32-year-old woman will be held responsible for causing the crash as it has been confirmed that she made an unsafe driving maneuver ultimately triggering the collision.

With there being clear-cut and viable evidence that there was negligence on behalf of the driver, the injured driver and the two children taken to the hospital will be entitled to a personal injury lawsuit following this incident. Injured car accident victims not found liable for a traffic accident are entitled to compensation for their hospital bills and medical expenses, lost wages due to absence from work, and pain and suffering.
