A forensic examination of the Toyota pickup truck involved, as well as photos that were taken of the scene, will help investigators determine what ultimately caused the crash. Authorities will thoroughly look into the speed of the driver, whether or not alcohol or drugs played a role, whether or not there was any mechanical issue with the car, and whether or not the motorist was distracted or reckless at the time. The investigation will also consist of looking at measurements of evidence left by the vehicle, such as point of impact, its final resting positions, skid marks, and gouge marks.
Pending the results and findings of the investigation for this incident, the woman and her child will possess the right to pursue a personal injury lawsuit against the at-fault party.
