A statement released by Montclair police said a woman was walking shortly after midnight when she was struck by an older green or black Honda Civic.
The victim was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center where she was treated for a dislocated right knee and a head laceration. She was reportedly last listed in stable condition.
Her name was not disclosed.
As per Daily Bulletin, a witness told police that the male driver exited the car, looked at the pedestrian lying face down on the road, and then returned to his vehicle. The motorist took off west on Kingsley Street.
An article by ABC 7 described the suspect as a white man 40-45 years old, last seen wearing a gray or black tank top.
