Woman Dies at Desert Valley Hospital
VICTORVILLE (June 19, 2017)- According to the Press-Enterprise, a deadly collision led to the death of a pedestrian woman Friday evening at the cross streets of Hesperia and Comanche roads.
Authorities were notified of the collision at precisely 11:23 p.m. when an unidentified woman was struck by the driver of a truck driven by Joseph Covarubias, 42, of Victorville.
The victim was rushed to Desert Valley Hospital in serious condition where she was sadly pronounced dead a short while after being admitted to the hospital.
According to the Press-Enterprise, the victim will be publicly identified once her relatives are informed of her passing.
Authorities confirmed Covarubias was uninjured and did not seek any medical treatment at the scene.
Hesperia Road remained completely closed off for approximately four hours until around 4:00 a.m.
Victorville PD will handle the investigation and have not provided any information regarding whether drugs or alcohol played a role.
