Major Injury Crash Involving Woman in Wheelchair Hit by Pickup
LANCASTER, Calif. (August 13, 2026) – A woman riding in a motorized wheelchair was badly injured Wednesday night in a crash when she was struck by a pickup truck and dragged at West Avenue K-8 at 17th Street West in Lancaster.
The crash occurred around 10:42 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12th at the Lancaster intersection, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lancaster Station.
The circumstances leading up to the collision are unknown, however, the woman was reportedly dragged quite a distance and was found underneath the front of the truck. The truck stopped in the middle of the roadway with the mangled motorized wheelchair at its front end.
Paramedics responded and rushed the woman to Antelope Valley Medical Center with serious injuries. The male driver in the gray pickup truck stopped and cooperated with authorities.
The investigation into the Lancaster accident is ongoing.
