The crash took place about 12:43 a.m. on Sunday morning. The Orange County Fire Authority and paramedics responded to the scene to help the injured woman. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment, but her condition was not disclosed. The suspect driver fled the scene and police are investigating the scene to find clues to identify the vehicle and driver.
The Santa Ana Police Department is heading up the investigation into the crash to determine liability.

Indeed, the CHP report states that 24 people died and 1,632 were injured in collisions in 2013 in collisions throughout the city. Overall, the OC area had 165 deaths and 13,837 injuries in 2013, the CHP report said.
