Woman Dies After Car Plows Into Pomona House on Colony Drive
POMONA, CA (September 17, 2020) – One died after a vehicle plowed into a house along Colony Drive on Thursday night.
According to reports by KTLA and ABC 7 News, officers received a call about the tragic accident at around 9:18 p.m. at the location of 1153 Colony Drive.
Police said a Chrysler PT Cruiser was allegedly traveling at an extreme speed when it spun out of control. The car apparently jumped a curb and slammed into the residence.
Car Slams Into Residence in Pomona Thursday
Los Angeles County Fire Department officials along with the paramedics responded and found a woman trapped underneath the Chrysler as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel later pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Her name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver involved stayed at the crash site following the crash. Authorities reportedly detained and questioned the motorist.
Officers forced Hamilton Boulevard to shut down between Lexington Avenue and Fremont Street for several hours due to the crash. The fatal incident remains under investigation.
