Woman Killed in Blythe Crash on 10 Freeway, Near Mesa Drive

BLYTHE, Calif. (March 30, 2026) — Natalia Silva, a 43-year-old Chino Hills resident, was killed and a second person injured in a two-vehicle crash early Friday on the eastbound 10 Freeway in Blythe.
The collision occurred on March 27th shortly after 5 a.m. east of Mesa Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Investigators said a red 2026 Kia sedan was traveling eastbound at an undetermined speed when, for unknown reasons, it veered off the roadway, struck a guardrail and came to rest disabled in the No. 1 lane.
A 2019 Volkswagen traveling in the same lane was unable to avoid the stopped vehicle and collided with the Kia.
Silva, who was a passenger in the Kia, became trapped in the wreckage and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in the Volkswagen suffered minor injuries and was transported to John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Indio.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
