Woman Killed in Highway 41 Collision at Fremont Avenue Near Lemoore

One Dead, Two Injured in Kings County on State Route 41

KINGS COUNTY, Calif. (Jan. 9, 2026) — A woman was killed Thursday night in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 41 and Fremont Avenue north of Lemoore in Kings County, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officers responded to the scene on northbound Highway 41 near Fremont Avenue following reports of a serious collision. Investigators said the January 9th crash occurred around 9:45 p.m.

According to CHP, the woman was driving a 2019 Jeep Renegade eastbound on Fremont Avenue as it crossed Highway 41. At the same time, a man was traveling northbound on Highway 41 in a 2013 Chrysler 300.

For reasons that remain under investigation, authorities said the Jeep entered the intersection and was struck by the Chrysler. The woman driving the Jeep suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Chrysler and a passenger in the vehicle sustained minor to moderate injuries. Both were treated by emergency personnel.

The identities of those involved have not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin. The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
