Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle in Sun Valley
SUN VALLEY, Calif. (April 10, 2023) – Fatal hit-and-run pedestrian accident at Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Keswick Street in Sun Valley.
The collision occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 6th, according to the Los Angeles Police Department and ABC 7 News.
Police say a driver in an older-model pickup truck in two-tone blue similar to a Nissan or Toyota ran through a red traffic light while heading south on Laurel Canyon Road. The pickup truck reportedly struck an unidentified 55-year-old woman pushing a cart and walking in a marked crosswalk. The cart apparently became caught on the truck and the victim was thrown onto the roadway.
Meanwhile, the suspect in the pickup truck continued driving without stopping to assist the woman. Paramedics responded and transported the injured woman to a hospital, but she later died.
The Los Angeles Police Department noted the pickup truck will likely have front-end damage from the pedestrian accident on Laurel Canyon Boulevard.
Finally, there is a standing reward of up to $50,000 available to anyone who provides information that leads to the suspect’s arrest, identification and conviction.
