Deadly Crash in Florence Area of LA
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (July 29, 2024) — A 48-year-old woman died in a hit-and-run crash early Monday on Gage Avenue in the Florence area of Los Angeles.
The traffic fatality occurred at 1:11 a.m. on July 29th at 219 West Gage Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.
The driver was traveling westbound on Gage Avenue when for unknown reasons they struck the woman in the roadway, police said.
The driver, however, failed to stop and call for help and fled the scene.
Paramedics transported the injured woman to a hospital, but she later died.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the pedestrian accident on Gage Avenue.
