Pedestrian Accident at Lido Way and Thackeray Lane
SAN JOSE, Calif. (Jan. 29, 2026) — A 45-year-old woman was killed Tuesday morning after being struck by a van in a shopping center parking lot in East San Jose, police said.
The collision was reported on Jan. 27th at 11:17 a.m. in a parking lot near Lido Way and Thackeray Lane, according to San Jose police. Investigators said a man driving a 2024 Ford Transit 150 van was traveling south through the lot when he turned left and struck the woman, who was walking in the area.
The pedestrian died at the scene. Her name was not released pending formal identification and notification of next of kin, though coroner records indicate she was a 45-year-old San Jose resident.
Police said the driver remained at the scene and there was no immediate indication of an arrest or citation.
The crash was the city’s second traffic fatality of the year, and the second involving a pedestrian. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Joshua White of the SJPD Traffic Investigations Unit at 408-277-4654 or [email protected].
