CHP initially received a call about a blue Chevrolet Trailblazer and a Ford which collided at 8:14 p.m. The accident which may involved more vehicles occurred just south of Avenue 384.
In an article by The Fresno Bee, CHP said 20-year-old Michael Mendez was driving a2003 Chevrolet north on Road 80 when he lost control of his car and swerved across the center median.
Mendez, of Dinuba, then struck a 2010 Ford headed south at the time.
CHP affirmed that a passenger in the Ford, 69-year-old Visalia woman was transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia where she died. Her name has not been yet released pending notification of family.
The driver of the Ford, 69-year-old Visalia resident James Wagner, was seriously hurt and was taken to Kaweah Delta for treatment.
