Car Falls From 4th Story Parking Garage
ORANGE, Calif. (Sept. 17, 2021) — A woman in her 70s died at the St. Joseph Hospital parking garage when her car crashed down from the fourth-story to the ground below.
The deadly crash happened about 9:20 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 17, according to the Orange County Register. The 7-story parking structure is located at West La Veta Avenue and South Pepper Street next to Providence St. Joseph Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Orange County, Orange.
The woman was in the parking lot of the St. Joseph Outpatient Pavilion in Orange. Her vehicle crashed through an outside wall and careened to the ground, landing upside down, police said.
Car Lands on Roof Below Parking Structure in Orange
Firefighters and paramedics responded and located the silver car after bystanders had already flipped it right side up. The car’s roof was completely flattened into the body of the vehicle.
The woman was alone in the vehicle and no one on the ground was hurt.
Investigators seek to determine what led up to the St. Joseph Hospital parking structure accident. They do not suspect suicide at this time.
Authorities closed down Pepper Street just south of La Veta Avenue due to the investigation.
