Driver Thomas Lyster Hit Woman Riding on Scooter
RIDGECREST, Calif. (July 2, 2024) — A woman riding an electric scooter died early Monday on West Ridgecrest Boulevard at South Goss Street in Ridgecrest.
A driver identified as Thomas Lyster reportedly struck the woman from behind at around 12:48 a.m. on July 1st in Kern County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the woman suffered a major head injury. Paramedics and police responded, but she became unresponsive and died at the scene.
The driver involved stopped and cooperated with authorities.
Police are investigating the fatal scooter accident on Ridgecrest Boulevard.
