SUV Hits Woman on Bike Riding on Point Loma Blvd. in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Oct. 31, 2023) — A 41-year-old woman was seriously injured in a bicycle accident involving an SUV Monday night on Point Loma Boulevard in San Diego.
The traffic accident occurred at around 9 p.m. on Oct. 30th, according to the Times of San Diego.
The report stated the woman was traveling on her bike westbound on Point Loma Boulevard, but her bicycle didn’t have any lights and she was wearing dark clothing.
Meanwhile, a driver in a 2011 Lexus RX450 struck her in the 4300 block of West Point Loma Boulevard, the report said.
Paramedics responded and rushed the injured woman to a hospital with a fractured pelvis, but fortunately her injuries are not life-threatening, authorities said.
Finally, the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division is heading up the investigation, but so far alcohol was not suspected to be a factor in the crash.
