Woman Using Walker Killed in Fresno Hit-and-Run Crash on Olive Avenue
FRESNO, CA (July 29, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash killed a woman with a walker on Olive Avenue in Fresno.
According to The Fresno Bee and Your Central Valley, the tragic collision occurred on Thursday night. Officers reported the incident at around 8:42 p.m.
Fresno police said a vehicle struck an elderly woman using a walker as she crossed Olive Avenue. The driver hit her for an unknown reason, just west of Fresno Street.
Pedestrian Hit by Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then found the pedestrian left lying on the ground. She sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon rushed the victim to the Community Regional Medical Center, where she died. Her name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the woman and fled southbound. They described the car as a white, older model, Ford Expedition.
Officers added that the lighting was poor at the time along the stretch of Olive Avenue. The fatal Fresno hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
