WOODLAKE, California (August 11, 2016) — At least one man was killed and others may have been injured when a car veered off Avenue 376 (Piedra Avenue) and crash on its side about 60 feet from the roadway, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The fatal crash took place about 5:48 a.m. this morning near Echo Drive (State Route Highway 201). The man was found trapped inside the vehicle and arriving officers stated the engine was detached from the vehicle. Firefighters had to extricate the man from the wreckage.
The cause of the crash was not known at this time, but an investigation is underway.
