Semi-Truck Crashes into Ditch in Woodland
WOODLAND, Calif. (Nov. 12, 2021) — A Woodland crash on at County Roads 27 and 94 happened early Friday morning in Yolo County.
The California Highway Patrol reported the crash about 6:44 a.m. on Nov. 12th amid heavy fog in the area.
The drivers of a big rig truck and another motorist collided due to unknown circumstances. Witnesses told CHP officials the truck hauling 25,000 pounds of cargo wound up in a ditch.
Multi-Vehicle Crash in Woodland Amid Fog
A second semi-truck involved in the collision left the scene after sharing information with the other motorists in the collision. The truck pulled over at the County Road 27 on ramp to northbound Highway 505 to wait for clearance.
Yolo County Fire responded to treat anyone hurt in the crash, however, there are no specific details. Fire officials told 911 operators there were several near-miss crashes and a second vehicle went into the ditch due to fog.
Tow trucks responded to remove two vehicles from the crash scene.
Investigators seek to determine fault for the collision. Witnesses may contact authorities to help them solve liability for the case.
