1 Killed, 1 Badly Injured in Woodland Crash on Old River Road Near County Road 124
WOODLAND, CA (April 21, 2022) – A head-on crash killed one person and injured another on Old River Road near County Road 124 in Woodland.
According to the Davis Enterprise and ABC 10 News, the tragic accident took place on Wednesday night. Officers reported the wreck on April 20 at around 9:35 p.m.
The incident began when a Lexus sedan and a Hyundai Tiburon were traveling from opposite directions on Old River Road in Woodland.
For an unknown reason, one of the cars drifted across the roadway. The California Highway Patrol said in the process, the two vehicles collided head-on near County Road 124.
2 Cars Collide Head-On
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They confirmed that a Woodland woman driving the Hyundai died as a result of the collision.
The driver of the Lexus, a West Sacramento resident, survived with moderate injuries. Medical personnel took the patient to the UC Davis Medical for treatment.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, CHP forced Highway 46 to shut down in both directions near McCombs Avenue following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Woodland crash is still under investigation.
