Woodland Fatal Pedestrian Hit-and-Run Crash Pioneer Avenue Tide Court

Man, 62, Killed in Woodland Hit-and-Run Near Pioneer Avenue and Tide Court

WOODLAND, CA (July 16, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash killed a pedestrian near Pioneer Avenue and Tide Court in Woodland.

According to The Sacramento Bee and CBS Sacramento, the tragic accident occurred on Friday morning. Officers reported the incident at about 8:30 a.m.

Woodland police said a vehicle struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason. The driver hit him near the intersection of Pioneer Avenue and Tide Court.

Authorities initially believed that the victim had been shot and thrown from the car.

Pedestrian Hit by Car

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found the 62-year-old man left lying on the ground as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene. The name of the deceased party remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.

Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver did not stop to render aid and fled the area. They soon located the motorist in the 1600 block of Gillette Drive, near East Gum Avenue, and arrested him.

Authorities forced the intersection of Pioneer Avenue and Tide Court to shut down following the crash. The fatal Woodland hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
