1 Injured in Woodland Hills Hit-and-Run Crash on 101 Freeway at Winnetka
LOS ANGELES, CA (January 27, 2022) – A hit-and-run crash injured at least one person on the 101 Freeway and Winnetka Avenue in Woodland Hills.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the wreck took place on Thursday afternoon. Officers reported the accident at about 12:38 p.m.
The incident happened when a white Mercedes and another vehicle collided for an unknown reason in the Woodland Hills neighborhood.
The two crashed on the eastbound 101 Freeway at Winnetka Avenue. The Mercedes ended up with a damaged rear window due to the impact of the collision.
Box Truck and Car Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found an occupant of the white car hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel provided treatment to the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the incident. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded victim and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the other driver did not stop to help and then fled the area. They described the vehicle as a box truck.
Officers forced the eastbound 101 Freeway at Winnetka to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the Woodland Hills hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
