Man, 71, Severely Injured in Woodland Hit-and-Run at Gum and Thomas
WOODLAND, CA (October 21, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash severely injured a pedestrian at Gum Avenue and Thomas Street in Woodland.
According to the CBS Sacramento and FOX 40 News, the accident took place last week on Thursday. Officers reported the collision at around 7 p.m.
The incident happened on October 14 when a vehicle struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason in Woodland. Police said the driver hit him at the intersection of East Gum Avenue and Thomas Street.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the 71-year-old man left lying on the ground. He sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel then rushed the victim to the UC Davis Medical Center for treatment. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded patient and his condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the man and fled the area. They described the car as a white, GMC Yukon XL Denali, a model between 1999 and 2006.
The GMC obtained possible minor to moderate damage near the driver-side headlamp assembly or front driver-side fender. The Woodland hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
