
Multi-Vehicle Crash on 101 Freeway in Hollywood
HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (Dec. 11, 2023) – A wrong-way driver allegedly set off a six-vehicle crash early Monday on the southbound Hollywood (101) Freeway in Hollywood.
The multi-vehicle traffic accident left at least one person with major injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol and CBS News.
Several people called 911 to report a vehicle entered the southbound lanes of the freeway at Sunset Boulevard off ramp traveling in a northbound direction at around 1:59 a.m. on Dec. 11th.
Several collisions ensued and debris scattered across all traffic lanes on the freeway. Paramedics responded and rushed one person to a hospital where they were listed in critical condition.
Meanwhile, CHP officers closed down the freeway to traffic just north of Gower Street.
Six tow trucks removed damaged vehicles from the roadway and it reopened to traffic at 3:30 a.m., the report said.
The wrong-way crash in Hollywood remains under investigation.
