Wrong-Way Driver Killed in Irvine Crash on Jamboree Road

IRVINE, Calif. (Feb. 10, 2025) – Joshua Kevin Soto, 29, of La Habra, died in a head-on crash early Monday on Jamboree Road, just south of Warner Avenue in Irvine.
The two-vehicle collision occurred around 1:35 a.m. on Feb. 10th, according to the Irvine Police Department.
The man was driving a Hyundai Elantra south in the northbound lanes of Jamboree before colliding with another vehicle, police said.
Paramedics responded and rushed the Hyundai’s driver to a local hospital, but he later died due to major injuries, police said. There were no serious injuries from the other vehicle.
The Irvine Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating the cause of the wrong-way collision. Witnesses are asked to contact Detective Joshua Balos at 949-724-7024.
