Yelena Sotnikova Identified as Woman Killed in Citrus Heights Crash

CITRUS HEIGHTS, Calif. (June 12, 2026) — Yelena Sotnikova, 66, was struck and killed on the morning of Saturday, May 30th, while crossing San Juan Avenue on a mobility scooter in Citrus Heights.
The Sacramento woman was identified recently by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
A driver struck the woman near Greenback Lane around 9 a.m. on May 30th, the report said.
Police responded to the crash site and located the severely injured woman, who died at the scene.
Detectives working on the case closed down the southbound lanes of Sylvan Road and San Juan Avenue between Stock Ranch Road and Greenback Lane ton conduct the investigation.
Finally, the driver involved stopped and cooperated with the investigation.
