Yesenia Bibriesca Arrested for Hit-and-run; Bicyclist Christopher Jones, 43, Killed

DESERT HOT SPRINGS, Calif. (July 14, 2020) – – Yesenia Bibriesca, 31, has been arrested on hit-and-run charges after she struck a bicyclist identified as 43-year-old Christopher Jones in a fatal crash at Two Bunch Palms Trail in Desert Hot Springs.

The bicyclist died in the 5:30 a.m. crash on Wednesday, July 8th.

The Riverside County Coroner’s identified the Palm Springs man who died as Christopher Jones.

Jones had been riding a bicycle on Two Bunch Palms Trail near Cholla Drive when he was reportedly struck by a westbound Lexus driven by Bibriesca.

Paramedics and police responded and found Jones lying in the roadway where he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the driver failed to stop and render aid to bicyclist as he was left to die in the street.

The collision remains under investigation by police. Witnesses are asked to contact the Desert Hot Springs Police Department at (760) 329-6411 extension 351.
