Suspected DUI Driver Arrested; 2 Hurt

 Yin Wu, 91, Killed in Venice Pedestrian, Scooter Crash on Lincoln Boulevard LOS ANGELES, Calif. (June 1, 2021) — Yin Wu, 91, died Saturday night when he was struck by a suspected DUI driver riding an electric rental scooter on a sidewalk at Lincoln Boulevard.

The fatal crash happened about 9:20 p.m. on Saturday, May 29th, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

James Cody Skene, 29, was arrested for DUI after the collision. The young man and a female passenger were riding northbound on a sidewalk next to Lincoln Boulevard.

Yin W fell down during the collision and struck his head on the sidewalk, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Furthermore, the elderly man suffered a major head injury and died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner who identified the victim as Yin Wu.

Meanwhile, police arrested the driver involved and booked him. However, later he was released on $100,000 bail.

The LAPD’s West Traffic Division is investigating the crash.
