Grandmother Killed in North Beach Pedestrian Accident
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (Nov. 8, 2018) — Ying Kuang, 86, was struck and killed as she crossed the street Monday afternoon at the north end of San Francisco’s Chinatown, police said.
The pedestrian was in a crosswalk when she was struck by a big rig truck about 12:37 p.m. near Powell and Vallejo streets.
The woman died of her injuries at the scene of the collision.
Police closed down Vallejo Street between Stocktown and Powell streets and Powell Street between Vallejo and Broadway streets.
North Beach Accident Investigation
Police are heading up an investigation into the cause of this crash and will examine the evidence at the scene, take measurements and speak to those involved as well as witnesses.
The family of the woman who died may seek justice by filing a wrongful death lawsuit against the driver responsible.
