Man, 29, Killed in San Marcos Pedestrian Accident is Identified
SAN MARCOS, Calif. (February 14, 2022) – Yoav Maciel, 29, died in a San Marcos pedestrian accident on West Mission Road in San Diego County.
A driver in a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck traveling westbound on West Mission Road struck the victim about 11:25 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8th, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune and FOX 5 News.
Firefighters and paramedics responded to the roadway, just west of Palomar College.
He sustained serious injuries due to the impact of the collision. Medical personnel soon pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The San Diego Medical Examiner later identified the victim as Yoav Maciel on their website.
Meanwhile, the 56-year-old man driving the Dodge stopped and is cooperating with authorities.
Investigators closed down a stretch of Mission Road to investigate the deadly pedestrian accident. The cause of the fatal San Marcos crash is still under investigation.
